CONSERVATIVE PARTY LOOK TO GRAYSON FOR GOOD EXAMPLE|
November 2009

Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne MP visited Grayson Thermal Systems on Friday, 13 November, during the West Midlands leg of a national roadshow promoting ‘Get Britain Working’ – the party’s programme to tackle what it calls the ‘twin crisis of debt and unemployment’.
Mr Osborne was on a fact-finding mission, and he was keen to visit a well-run family business that has diversified during the recession.
Grayson was delighted to be selected.
As a manufacturing business operating in an industry sector that has been hit hard by the downturn, we are proud that we have not made a single redundancy during the downturn, and that we have been able to continue with our planned investment in new premises and equipment to ensure that we can continue to develop new products, and expand into new markets.
Mr Osborne met managers to hear about the steps that have been taken to ensure the business could weather the storm. He also talked to trainees about their work and the business as a whole: creating job opportunities for young people is a central element in the ‘Get Britain Working’ programme.
The tour continued with a visit to Birmingham Metropolitan College, for a question and answer session with students and members of the Chamber of Commerce.
