Job Overview

We are now looking for a skilled Test Engineer to join GTS. Reporting to the Test and Development Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and implementing tests to ensure product design/quality and functionality. Your involvement spans all testing phases, from setting parameters to troubleshooting errors and documenting final procedures/reports. Your responsibilities include analysing product features, designing test parameters, creating customised quality checks, and preparing final test procedures/reports for Customer Engineers. The candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering and testing processes, keen attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills. In this role, you’ll take ownership of your projects, collaborating with Customer Engineers for feedback on prototype improvements. Additionally, you may support Installation approvals, ensuring Grayson’s products and systems meet the highest standards. If the candidate has HVAC experience, it would be advantageous, as our products are refrigerant and coolant designed.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with the product design team to determine product testing parameters
  • Writing test plans and creating test cases for the product
  • Conducting quality assurance and designing performance tests using the new testing procedures
  • Troubleshooting any errors and streamlining the testing procedures
  • Ensuring all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards
  • Preparing test reports for Management / Customer Engineer
  • Liaison with customer engineering/ design/ quality department to investigate and resolve design issues when required
  • Be involved in creating test program for new developments at both system and component level
  • Keep up to date with all projects on business NPI tool

Experience

  • An engineering degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
  • High Voltage Vehicles or High Voltage systems
  • Right first time, accurate and in specification
  • A high-level skill to demonstrate right-first-time approach
  • On time delivery of BTMS, Cabin Heat Pumps and HVAC systems in line with EPO release
  • Warranty / Reliability / Quality costs for re work and / or campaigns
  • Previous work experience as a Test Technician, showing awareness of functional testing would be advantageous
  • Ability to project manage own test programs
  • Innovative, good organisational skills, works well in a team
  • Good knowledge of understanding drawing and principles

We’re seeking someone with a strong background in engineering and testing processes, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills. As a Test Technician, you’ll take ownership of your projects, provide feedback for prototype improvements, and may even support installation approvals.
