Grayson Thermal Systems Delivers 200th E-Drive System to Solaris Bus and Coach

12th March 2015

Grayson E-Drive SystemGrayson Thermal Systems, has delivered the 200th E-Drive (Electric Fan Cooling System) designed specially for Polish manufacturer, Solaris Bus and Coach.

The 200th Electric Fan Cooling System (E-Drive), marks a milestone in the supply of this fuel saving system, taking the total to 1500 units, all supplied to OE manufacturers, worldwide.

With a relationship spanning almost ten years, E-Drive is the latest in a long line of projects between Grayson and Solaris.

Of this most recent project, Maciej Mrozek, Senior Design Engineer from Solaris Bus and Coach, says, “Grayson’s bespoke E-Drive systems were designed especially to meet Solaris’s requirements. I was very satisfied with the speed at which we went from concept to the production of this new product. It has been more than one year since the first delivery, and I’m happy to say the unit is working without any problems. We are sure to continue cooperation with Grayson in the future.”

Replacing traditional hydraulic cooling systems, E-Drive gives operators a high level of control over fan speed and temperature. With fans only operating on full power when conditions demand, benefits include reduced emissions, noise levels, fire risks, maintenance costs and, importantly, lower fuel bills.

Matthew Hateley, Business Development Manager  commented “Sales of the Grayson E-Drive system are increasing year on year, as OE manufacturers and bus operators start to realise the benefits that an electric fan cooling system can provide over a traditional hydraulic system. We are very happy that Solaris Bus and Coach are among this group. They are long standing customers of ours and we look forward to providing their complete cooling system needs in the future.”

Companies, like Solaris, looking for greater control and reduced fuel bills are encouraged to speak to the experts at Grayson Thermal Systems about E-Drive.
