[Birmingham, UK – January 2026] – Grayson Thermal Systems has announced a major milestone in its partnership with PAK-PCE Polski Autobus Wodorowy Sp. z o.o., the Polish company behind the NesoBus hydrogen city bus. PAK-PCE has now produced its 100th NesoBus, coinciding with the delivery of its 100th Grayson Battery Thermal Management System (BTMS).
The NesoBus – developed by PAK-PCE, a joint venture between ZE PAK and Polsat Plus Group – is one of Europe’s most advanced hydrogen-powered city buses. The 12-metre model emits only water vapour, actively purifies the air, refuels in around 15 minutes, and offers a range of up to 450 km. Designed by Polish engineers with international partners, NesoBus vehicles are already operating in cities including Chełm and Rybnik.
For its fleet, PAK-PCE selected the Grayson BTMS M2-600V DC to ensure precise thermal control of the vehicle’s battery system. In a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), the battery works alongside the fuel cell stack to deliver smooth acceleration, energy recovery and efficient power distribution. Maintaining the correct battery temperature is critical for system efficiency, safety and long-term durability.
Grayson’s M2 BTMS provides active cooling and heating to maintain a stable thermal environment across all operating conditions, ensuring consistent performance throughout demanding city duty cycles.
PAK-PCE began working with Grayson in November 2020, with the first BTMS unit completed on 28 June 2021. Moving from prototype development to full production in just a few years marks a significant achievement for the Polish start-up.
“Reaching 100 NesoBus vehicles is an impressive milestone and testament to the progress PAK-PCE has made in bringing hydrogen mobility to the streets of Poland,” said Matthew Hateley, Head of European Sales and Marketing at Grayson. “We are proud to support them with the thermal management technology essential for dependable, zero-emission operation.”
As European cities increasingly explore hydrogen to decarbonise public transport, the NesoBus provides a proven, scalable platform. Grayson’s BTMS portfolio is designed to meet the demanding thermal requirements of hydrogen, battery-electric and hybrid applications, supporting OEMs and integrators as they transition to cleaner, more efficient vehicles.
